With offices in Colorado and Massachusetts we serve clients around the globe.  We offer balanced expertise based upon outstanding business experience enlightened by a holistic organizational development perspective. Chrysalis Consulting President and Founder Karen Kralios


Karen Kralios is an organizational effectiveness, leadership development and culture change professional with over 20 years’ experience delivering solutions to organizations in support of their strategic endeavors. Karen’s passion and expertise is in creating organizational cultures in which employees have the motivation, the ability, and the means to do their best work – every day. The focus of her life’s work is Empowering People to Evolve Organizations and Evolving Organizations to Empower People

Her areas of expertise include: Diversity and Inclusion, Organization Development, Transformational Change Management, Leadership Development, Talent Management and Strategy, Organizational Culture Change, Competitive Analysis and Research, Executive and Organizational/Team Interventions.

During her extensive career, Karen has managed diverse, global teams with a record of applying strategic thinking, innovation and problem solving to address business challenges, Her extensive consulting background with leading global organizations Deloitte and Touche and Accenture has given her exposure to the challenges in many industries including high-tech, healthcare, consulting, utilities, non-profit and government. She has helped numerous companies improve their organizational effectiveness, leadership strengths and human resource capabilities to achieve objectives that result in huge bottom line savings, top line growth, enhanced innovation and improved employee engagement.

Most recently, Karen served at Level 3 Communications where she drove programs which strengthened the global organizational culture including; meaningful and effective performance management, employee engagement, executive development, new hire orientation and onboarding, global diversity and inclusion initiatives, and employer branding.

Karen comes from Greece and frequently travels back there and to as many parts of the world as she can get to, with her husband, son and daughter. Her worldwide travels continue to foster her passion for diversity and inclusion and constantly serve to remind her of the importance of keeping an open and curious mind.  Karen earned a BA in Psychology from Wellesley College and holds a Master of Business Administration in Organizational Behavior and Operations Management from Boston University is a certified Executive Coach and Senior Professional in HR.

Sean Mitchell - Principal and Competitive Intelligence, Strategy, and Research Lead

Sean Mitchell is a strategy, finance, real estate, competitive intelligence, start-up business, and research consultant. He provides high value consulting services to a myriad of international clients in the areas of strategy, finance, organizational development, real estate, and high technology. 

Sean has an extensive strategic management, sales and marketing background with over 25 years combined in the consulting, real estate, finance, high tech, startup, telecommunications, software, and retail industries.  Sean was notably integral to the growth of SignalSoft Corp from a small private Boulder company to a publicly traded international vendor of wireless network software, which ultimately sold to Openwave Systems.  Sean has over 14 years experience in real estate brokerage and investment/property management of commercial and residential properties providing consulting and transaction services to property owners, tenants, buyers, and investors. He has delivered services in the sales and marketing of over $100M for both residential and commercial real estate markets. Sean utilizes a highly consultative approach to serving his clients, ensuring that the goals of the client are met above all else.

Sean holds a Masters of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship with a focus on Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder as well as a BA in Economics. Sean speaks both Spanish and French and has conducted business in North America, Europe, Asia, and South America.

Susan Vroman - Senior Consultant & Boston Office Manager

Susan Vroman Susan is an organizational effectiveness and leadership development specialist.  With over 25 years of experience working as an internal and external resource, Susan’s passion and expertise lies in values-based leadership development and profit-centered culture development.  She has demonstrated superior results in designing and creating engaged workforces with direct business results. 

Susan has served as an Executive Coach specializing in high potential emerging leaders.  She has designed and used tools such as 360 degree questionnaires to help leaders achieve greater professional success.  Susan has also led Change Management initiatives ranging from organizational re-engineering to culture and human resource assimilation preparing for and in the aftermath of leadership changes and mergers and acquisitions. Susan’s work facilitating troubled teams has also helped them to overcome obstacles to their success. 

Susan has been the architect of corporate universities and has also designed and developed learning and development programming for leadership development, supervisory effectiveness, and soft-skills effectiveness.  She is known for her high energy in delivery and assurance that participants’ experiences are respected as they are active and engaged in learning. 

Susan holds her undergraduate degree in Communication and Human Resource Development from James Madison University and a Master’s Degree in Leadership Studies from Harvard University.  Susan is adjunct faculty at Northeastern University and Babson College teaching Leadership and Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, and Leading Effective Teams.  She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Predictive Index (PI), Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), and in DiSC.

Susan May - Leadership and Human Performance Lead

Susan May has 30 years of experience in leadership, organizational development, human performance, and change management consulting. She began her career at Accenture where she spent nine years helping clients achieve greater levels of performance via various initiatives. Her expertise lies in organization design and development, business process improvement, program / project management, large-scale change management, communication planning / execution, leadership development / alignment, performance metrics / management, and training design / development. In 2002, Susan continued her consulting career in Denver. She is known for her facilitative, partner-based approach. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Texas A&M University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a minor in Business Administration. Her clients have included: Accenture, Deloitte Consulting, Corporate Express, Rock Bottom Restaurants, Samsonite, Boeing Military Aircraft, the National Security Agency, the Department of Defense, Thomson Reuters, Gateway, Hospital Shared Services, Tenneco Shared Services, Tenneco Energy, Tenneco Packaging, Burlington Resources, United Dominion Realty Trust, Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Tennessee, Mobil (pre-merger), Celanese, Williams Energy, and Federal Express.
